Visit cdp.net or follow us @CDP to find out more.</p><p><strong><em>About the Team:</em></strong></p><p>The DevOps Team is responsible for enabling and supporting CDP’s engineering squads to deliver high-quality software efficiently and reliably. Working closely with infrastructure, architecture, and engineering teams, the DevOps Team leads on deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code, environment management, and automation — ensuring scalable and secure delivery across the platform.</p><p><strong><em>About this role:</em></strong></p><p class="MsoNormal">As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key technical role in evolving CDP’s DevOps practices, working across multiple squads to design and implement tooling, pipelines, automation and infrastructure. You will act as a DevOps subject matter expert, mentoring engineers, collaborating with architecture and infrastructure colleagues, and helping the team scale through innovation and robust cloud-native solutions.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><strong><em>What you will do:</em></strong></p><ul><li><p>Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure and architecture teams across multiple squads.</p></li><li><p>Design, implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipelines and GitHub Actions.</p></li><li><p>Build and manage scalable infrastructure using Terraform, applying Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.</p></li><li><p>Support engineers with training, documentation and guidance to embed DevOps practices into squads.</p></li><li><p>Ensure environments (Dev, SIT, UAT, Prod) are well managed, stable and aligned to best practice.</p></li><li><p>Integrate and maintain tools for code quality and compliance, such as SonarCloud, Ruff, Black, and Pylint.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with product and QA teams to align deployment strategies and release readiness.</p></li><li><p>Optimise Azure cloud services for performance, reliability and cost efficiency.</p></li><li><p>Automate and streamline manual tasks and recurring processes.</p></li><li><p>Implement proactive monitoring and observability solutions to detect and resolve infrastructure and pipeline issues.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to DevOps documentation, standards, and knowledge sharing.</p></li></ul><p>Actively contribute to an effective and engaged team, clear on its purpose and contribution, by:</p><ul><li><p>Ensuring you know what is expected of you, through regular 1:1’s, having clear objectives in place, and participating in open and honest performance and development conversations</p></li><li><p>Ensuring a respectful and inclusive workplace, where team members communicate openly, share knowledge so it can be used, and respect difference.</p></li><li><p>Living the CDP Values and demonstrating the behaviours appropriate to your position.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Internal stakeholders include:</strong> Engineering, QA, Architecture, Infrastructure, Product</p><p><strong>External stakeholders include:</strong> External support providers and cloud vendors</p><p><strong>We’re looking for:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Significant hands-on experience supporting DevOps for Azure-based platforms at scale</p></li><li><p><span>A background in Software Development, with the ability to read other team's code to diagnose problems.</span></p></li><li><p>Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code tools</p></li><li><p>Experience building CI/CD pipelines and managing DevOps workflows (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of cloud-native services (e.g. Azure App Services, Function Apps, Container Apps)</p></li><li><p>Experience with test automation and integration of code quality tools</p></li><li><p>Effective troubleshooting skills across multiple environments and systems</p></li><li><p>Ability to mentor others and influence DevOps culture across teams</p></li><li><p>Strong documentation, communication and collaboration skills</p></li><li><p>Passion for environmental sustainability and interest in CDP’s mission</p></li></ul><p><strong>Salary and benefits</strong>: The salary banding for this role is <span><strong>£70,000 - £80,000</strong></span><strong>/year</strong>, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.</p><p>Final offer amount depends on multiple factors such as candidates experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data.</p><p>This is a permanent role based at CDP’s London office. Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK and live within a commutable distance of the London office and be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week.
