<p>As Staff Engineer / Tech Lead Azure/.NET, you'll own the technical direction of our .NET and Azure platforms - leading the design of scalable, cloud-native solutions across a landscape that spans .NET and PHP-based e-commerce systems. You'll split your time between hands-on architecture work and technical leadership: driving key engineering decisions, mentoring engineers, and pushing the modernization of our platforms forward. You'll work closely with Software Engineers, DevOps, QA, and Product, and your decisions will directly shape engineering excellence, reliability, and developer productivity at Klarstein.</p> <p> </p> <h2><strong><span data-contrast="none">What you will do:  </span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":259}"> </span></h2> <ul> <li>Own the architecture and technical direction of critical services, leading the design and implementation of complex backend and cloud-native solutions</li> <li>Lead technical investigations, proof of concepts, and modernization/refactoring strategies — identifying technical debt and driving pragmatic long-term platform improvements</li> <li>Collaborate across .NET, PHP, DevOps, QA, Product, and external teams, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions</li> <li>Mentor engineers through design discussions, code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching</li> <li>Drive engineering excellence — best practices in testing, security, observability, and operational reliability, including incident/root-cause support and contributing to engineering standards and documentation</li> <li>Promote AI-assisted engineering practices to improve developer productivity and software quality</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2><strong><span data-contrast="none">What we are looking for: </span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":true,"134233118":true,"201341983":0,"335559740":240}"> </span></h2> <ul> <li>8+ years of professional backend development experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem (ASP.NET Core, .NET 8/10, Entity Framework Core, REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger), combined with a strong architectural mindset for designing scalable, resilient distributed systems</li> <li>Proven experience designing cloud-native systems on Microsoft Azure — including microservices, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and API-first design — with hands-on use of core Azure services (e.g. Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure Functions, App Services, Key Vault, Application Insights)</li> <li>Experience designing secure, cost-optimized cloud architectures (networking, identity/access management, application security), and building production systems with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred), and observability practices</li> <li>Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB) and working across heterogeneous systems — integrating .NET services, PHP applications, and third-party/enterprise platforms (e.g. SAP, REST/SOAP APIs)</li> <li>Track record mentoring engineers, leading technical reviews, and driving engineering standards across teams, ideally within Agile, cross-functional environments (Product, DevOps, QA, architects)</li> <li>Excellent written and spoken English</li> </ul> <h3><strong><span data-contrast="none">Nice to have:  </span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":true,"134233118":true,"201341983":0,"335559740":240}"> </span></h3> <ul> <li>Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf) and using them to improve development, testing, and documentation workflows</li> <li>Deep grounding in clean architecture / domain-driven design principles</li> <li>Direct experience integrating with SAP or comparable large-scale enterprise platforms</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2><strong>What we offer: </strong></h2> <ul> <li>40% employer contribution to the company pension plan</li> <li>Up to 28 days per year working from abroad (EU)</li> <li>Public transport ticket grant & 30% discount on our products</li> <li>A bright, modern, dog-friendly office right on the Spree in Friedrichshain - rooftop views included, four-legged colleagues welcome</li> <li>Team breakfast every two weeks - where we actually talk, not just stand-up updates</li> <li>Support by a team of highly skilled and dedicated colleagues who celebrate successes together at our company events</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2><strong>Who we are: </strong></h2> <p>Since 2005, Klarstein has been developing stylish, functional, and affordable home appliances designed for everyday use, and is now one of Europe’s leading digital brands.</p> <p>With a consistent end-to-end approach - from product concept and design through quality assurance and marketing to logistics and customer service - Klarstein stands for high quality, reliability, and an excellent price-performance ratio.</p> <p>With approximately 400 employees worldwide, international locations in Europe and Asia, and its own logistics centers, the company serves over 25 million customers in 21 European countries. </p> <h2 style="text-align: left;">JOIN THE TEAM!</h2> <div> <div> <p>Become part of our Engineering team and help us build the e-commerce experience our customers rely on.
