In this role, you will provide technical leadership, guide engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing backend solutions. </span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>Join the new Bloom Mobile App Onboarding team and play a key role in shaping the future of our banking customer experience!</span></p><h4><strong>How You Will Make an Impact:</strong></h4><ul><li><p><span>Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of backend services and platforms.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Drive architecture decisions in collaboration with architects and engineering teams.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Provide technical leadership and mentorship through code reviews, design reviews, and day-to-day engineering guidance.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Define and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality guidelines.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Deliver new features and enhancements that meet business, user, performance, and reliability requirements.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Troubleshoot complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.</span>&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><span>Ensure high software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration practices.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Drive improvements in performance, security, scalability, and maintainability across backend services.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Identify technical risks, propose mitigation strategies, and proactively address architectural and operational challenges.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Support the growth and development of engineers through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.</span></p></li></ul><h4><strong>What Makes You a Great Fit:</strong></h4><ul><li><p><span>10+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin; experience with Java is highly desirable.</span>&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><span>Strong experience designing and building microservice architectures.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong proficiency with Quarkus; experience with Spring Framework is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers, such as Kafka.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and observability.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems (Git).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong knowledge of performance optimization, secure coding practices, and application security.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience working in Agile environments and applying DevOps practices.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong knowledge of core AWS services and K8s.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proven experience leading technical initiatives and influencing architectural decisions across teams.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in banking, fintech, or other highly regulated enterprise environments is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p>Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on Pan-Baltic level.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><h4><strong>Why You Will Love Working Here:</strong></h4><ul><li><p><strong>Flexibility.</strong> Flexible working hours, Hybrid work, and the possibility to work from anywhere in the EU, Iceland, Switzerland, and the UK (in total 90 days per year)</p></li><li><p><strong>International teams.</strong> Teams that go outside Pan-Baltic borders, where people value challenging work together with good humor and having fun</p></li><li><p><strong>Culture.</strong> You’ll be joining a team where things move fast, ideas flow freely, and change is part of the everyday.
