At GDIT, people are our differentiator. GDIT Technology Shared Services (TSS) is seeking a Data Scientist Senior to transform how government agencies use data. Our work depends on a hands-on data scientist joining our team to design and implement artificial intelligence solutions supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hosting, Operations & Maintenance (HOM) program. HOW THE DATA SCIENTIST SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Accelerate our work by integrating advanced AI capabilities across our suite Accelerate the use of and evaluate the efficacy of AI coding tools across the team Implement both custom-built and vendor/COTS AI solutions, hands-on, from prototype through production Design and implement AI solutions for automated program accomplishment tracking and reporting, including intelligent classification systems and proactive knowledge management Implement generative AI (GenAI) with large language models (LLMs) and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) to deliver precise, data-driven responses Build an agentic framework enabling service ticket management, account administration, and intelligent journey orchestration WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field Experience: 5+ years of experience as a data scientist in AI/ML with a proven track record of deploying production solutions required ; 8+ years of experience as a data scientist in AI/ML with a proven track record of deploying production solutions preferred Strong AI/ML coding ability, with the capability to implement both custom and vendor-based solutions independently and use of AI coding tools Experience with generative AI (GenAI) using large language models (LLMs) Strong foundation in machine learning, statistical analysis, and experimental design with both quantitative and qualitative data Expertise in AI/ML cloud technologies (preferably on AWS, including Bedrock, Lambda, and SageMaker) Experience integrating AI solutions with legacy enterprise systems and orchestration platforms Familiarity with data engineering, ETL processes, data pipelines, and APIs Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to stakeholders and leadership Location: Remote GDIT IS YOUR PLACE At GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do. ● Growth: AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunities ● Support: An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goals ● Rewards: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, and competitive pay and paid time off ● Flexibility: Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home ● Community: Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplace OWN YOUR OPPORTUNITY Explore a career in data science and engineering at GDIT and you’ll find endless opportunities to grow alongside colleagues who share your determination for solving complex data challenges. The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
